How do you know if the information you find on line is accurate and truthful?
- I personally don't think it is truly possible to know if the information online is true. That's the main problem with the internet, anyone can alter information and then post it online

What do you think the potential problems are with giving or sharing personal log in information? When do you think it is okay to share this information? Why?

- I think sharing personal log in information is very dangerous. You never know what the person or people you share it with are capable of doing. The only time it is okay to share this information is possible when your parents ask for it. Other than that is is possibly dangerous to do so.

Why do you think that Netiquette is necessary for safe and secure online communication? What happens if someone breaks the Netiquette guidelines or social rules?

- I think netiquette is necessary for safe and secure online communications because netiquette is really just common sense. All you have to follow the simple guidelines and online community will be a great experience. If you don't follow the guidelines then there are usually consequences that no one truly wants to face.

What do you think about people who say unkind things to others using a computer? How would you feel if someone said something mean to you on the telephone, in an email, or in an online discussion? Is there a difference between the telephone and the computer?

-I think people who use the computer to say unkind things are usually cowards. They use the computer to say these unkind things because they are scared to say it in public. If someone said something i didn't like to me on the computer, or telephone, i would be very offended and would find away to solve my problem. There is really no difference between the computer and a telephone. They are both very different way of communication, that can still be used for bullying.

What do you think you should include or not include in your online profile (Google Profile) for this class?
- I think no one should put anything on their online profile they don't want people seeing, or commenting on. Everything should be school related, and should have something to do with the assignment.

Do you think that a parents should spy on their kid's online life? Is this good parenting or an invasion of privacy?
- I think this is both good parenting but also an invasion of privacy. Parents should just ask their kids to see their online stuff, instead of just snooping around. If the child has nothing to hide then there should be no problem with the parent checking periodically.

Some web sites hold very dangerous information, for example how to make a bomb. How can we control these Web sites?
- i think the only way to stop the dangerous information from being posted on the internet is to not allow it at all. i think everything should be screeened before it is allowed to appear on any website.

Do you think that flaming is acceptable? What do you think is the right thing to do when someone Flames you or someone you know? What advice would you give others?

- I dont think Flaming is acceptable. When and if someone flames you should confront the person and dont flame them back.

I am writing this to stress the point of internet safety. in today's society people choose the internet as a new preying ground. In other words there a dangerous people online and we need to watch our backs. People are not who they appear to be like in chat rooms, or on gaming websites. The safest way to keep away from people like this is to not give away any personal information. If they get a hold of that information they can easily prey.
