Can a computer beat a human in the most challenging trivia game on TV? Today, at IBM's headquarters in New York, we learned that the answer is yes.

What is Watson? Why is it so much harder for a computer to compete on jeopardy than to play chess? Do you think this is good thing? Will computers like this help or hurt people? What problems can computers solve? Are computers going to take away more jobs? Will computers eventually take over the world? What do you think? Write 3 paragraphs on your blog that support your opinion.

Watson a computer consisting of a roomful of the company's Power7 processors. It has the ability to understand different languages. The reason it is much harder for computer to compete in chess than jeopardy is because most computers lack the ability to do math. Watson on the other hand has the ability to understand sentences and properly answer them. I think this is a great idea that they want to design this computer. I think if the computer is able to beat a person then it is evident that this was a great idea.

I think that computers like Watson will help people. If the computer is used write and not abused of its quality then its would be beneficial to everyone who uses it. The computer is a big discovery in technology field. In terms of it beating a champion in jeopardy, there is only one way to find out. I think that Watson will do big things for IBM. Computers will eventually take away some jobs, but there is always something that a computer cant be designed to do.

I dont think computers will take over the world because they can only do what they were designed to do. If they weren't designed to take over the world, then they wont. Its a strange possibility that computers will begin thinking for themselves instead of following instruction. if this happens then computers will do only what they want.
